Project Graduation would like to thank Gary Verhoorn for all his hard work in running the Second Annual Resolution 5K Run and Walk on New Year’s Day.
Mr. Verhoorn is the founder and director of the Resolution 5k Run and Walk, and this year’s race was a great success. At 11 a.m. on New Year’s Day, when most people were home sleeping, over 325 runners of all shapes and sizes ran and walked through the rainy streets of Hillsborough. We all had a great time.
The Resolution Run 5K race is approve and certify by US Track and Field making it a USATF-NJ Sanctioned Grand Pix Event. Gary coordinated the event with the, always-helpful Hillsborough Police Department, and the Township Administration. He enlisted the aid of the many volunteers needed to run the race and obtained many sponsors.
Production Graduation would also like to thank the 5K Race Committee: Jim Barnish, Ali Ibrahim, George Jarvis, Kevin Katmann, Simon Kokinda, Elaine Kokinda, Joe Manuelli, Caroline Pond, M.G. Verhoorn, Robin Wennogie and Mark D. of Wheel Life, along with over 40 volunteers from various groups including Project Graduation 2003 (many parents and students), Carol’s Cats, Open Your Heart and Greyhounds of New Jersey.
The proceeds from this year’s race will be donated to Project Graduation, Carol’s Cats, Open Your Heart and Greyhounds of New Jersey.
Project Graduation would like to thank all the many sponsors of the race, in particularly, Wheel Life Cycles of Hillsborough and Somerville Cycles, Kyle Conti Construction, Harlingen Veterinary Clinic, I.N.I.T.I.A.L.
