Marian Martin Glaubitz

   Marian Martin Glaubitz, 91, of Hopewell Township, died Thursday at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, Pa.
   She was a resident of Hopewell Township for the past 10 years.
   Mrs. Glaubitz was born on the family farm on the shore of Lake Erie, Dec. 23, 1911. Her family grew grapes for Welch’s grape juice, headquartered in her hometown.
   
   A graduate of Fredonia State Teacher’s College with a degree in music, she sang, played piano and French horn and composed. She was teaching music in Westfield when she met her husband. They were married on Aug. 31, 1940 and moved to Macon, Ga., where she taught nursery school. After World War II, they moved to northern New Jersey, where she taught kindergarten for 22 years before retiring from Bloomfield Schools.
   Daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Martin, sister of the late Charlotte Martin and mother of the late Eric Winsor Glaubitz, who died in 2001, she is survived by her husband, H. Gerhard Glaubitz; a son J. Martin Glaubitz and his wife Olivia of Pennington; a daughter-in-law Kristin Glaubitz of Falls Church, Va.; five grandsons, Alex of Falls Church, Va., Robert of Boulder, Colo., Daniel of Falls Church, Va., Martin G. of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Christopher E. and wife Kate of Ithaca, N.Y; and two great-grandsons Gray and Sam of Ithaca, N.Y.
   Relatives and friends may call from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington.
