Raymond J. Farkas, 73, of Monmouth Junction, died Saturday, Jan. 4, at his home.
Mr. Farkas was born in Bayonne and moved to Westfield, where he lived for 41 years. He moved to Monmouth Junction 10 years ago. Mr. Farkas was active with the New Jersey State Chrysanthemum Society and had been a master judge for many years, serving in New Jersey and the eastern United States.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes T. Farkas; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan G. and Philip Marantz of Dayton and one granddaughter, Sydney Marantz.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 7, at M.J. Murphy Funeral home in Monmouth Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Augustine of Canterbury R.C. Church in Kendall Park. Burial followed at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Parkinson’s Disease Association, P.O. Box 214, Elizabeth, N.J. 07207.
