Princeton group plans to advertise for peace

A group of Princeton residents, believing that grass-roots opposition to a pre-emptive attack on Iraq has not been accurately reported, is preparing an anti-war TV ad.
"Very few people have the stomach for attacking a country which has not attacked us and whose people desperately want peace," said Jenny Crumiller, one of the organizers, "but these views are not being heard. We hope we can gather the funds to pay for 30 seconds of airtime to make a plea for peace."
To be produced by Telequest Inc., the ad will be filmed in Princeton this week.
According to Dan Preston, the filmmaker, "The only script for this ad will be the voices of people who view this war as unjustifiable and want to say why."
The ad will be screened at a public meeting from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at The Arts Council of Princeton, 102 Witherspoon St.
Donations to help pay for airtime can be made to the AntiWar Video Fund either online (www.AWVF.com) or by mail to 187 Library Place, Princeton, NJ 08540.
