MANALAPAN — Michelle Roth has been elected by her fellow Planning Board members to chair the panel in 2003.
Roth, who previously served as vice chairwoman, was elected by an 11-0 vote when the board reorganized for the new year. She has been a member of the panel for just under two years. Prior to being appointed to the Planning Board, Roth held a seat on the zoning board.
Herbert Lazar was elected vice chairman for 2003, also by an 11-0 vote. Ron Wishart remains the board secretary.
Former board member Howard Benkov has been reappointed to the panel.
Mayor Drew Shapiro and Township Committeewoman Beth Ward will take their seats representing the municipality’s governing body.
New to the board this year is Richard Cohen, who is an attorney with the firm Lieb, Kraus, Grispin and Roth, of Scotch Plains.
Three board members, Stephen Pine, Anthony Gennaro and Wishart, were reappointed. Donald Holland will fill the unexpired term of Daniel Larkins, and Richard Hogan, head of the construction department, will once again take his seat on the board.
Eleanor Ruggiero continues as the board’s administrator, keeping track of all records, filings, agendas, minutes, recordings of all meetings, maps, materials and messages from attorneys, planners, engineers and applicants.
The board’s professionals are attorney James J. Kinneally III, of the firm Chomsky, Philobosian, Russell, Kilmurry and Kinneally, of North Brunswick; engineer Gregory R. Valesi of CME Associates, Howell; and planner Richard Cramer of Townplan Associates, Middletown.
