The rear window of a South 11th Avenue residence was smashed. Police arrived at 11:54 a.m. Jan. 12 to confirm $100 worth of damage to the home.
Tien T. Nguyen, 22, of Hillsborough was charged with driving while suspended at 1:37 p.m. Jan. 12 on South Street.
He was released pending a court appearance after the charge was filed.
Two female juveniles were charged with shoplifting $170.95 from Wal-Mart on North Main Street at 6 p.m. Jan. 9.
They were released to a friend, pending appearances in municipal court.
A pharmacist at Manville’s Wal-Mart reported to police Jan. 9 what he believed to be a false request for a narcotics prescription from a South Plainfield doctor’s office, police said.
Scott Mylroie, the pharmacist, told police a secretary in the doctor’s office phoned in the prescription on Dec. 23 in the name of a Manville resident. Police are investigating.
An unknown burglar forced entry into a North 16th Avenue residence and stole $985 in cash and $656 in miscellaneous belongings between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Jan. 8, according to police.
Police are investigating the crime.
