No longer will the board hold what it has termed "agenda" meetings.

A policy change, adopted in December by the Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education, has resulted in a change in the way the school board will hold its meetings.
No longer will the board hold what it has termed "agenda" meetings. These normally were held on the second Monday of the month, followed by "regular" (action) meetings on the third Monday of the month.
As a result, the previously scheduled "agenda" meetings of Feb. 10, March 10, and April 14 have been cancelled.
Now, the board will hold only one action (regular) meeting a month on Jan. 21, Feb. 18, March 17 and April 22 (also the reorganization meeting). At reorganization, the 2003-2004 meeting schedule will be established.
The board also may hold "special" meetings from time to time to address specific topics in greater detail.
The changed policy reads:
"Generally, the board will attempt to schedule all major items of business to be acted upon at a single public meeting each month, which shall be regularly scheduled and shall be known as its regular monthly action meeting.
"In addition, the board may schedule additional business meetings devoted to one or more topics as it may require to assure due consideration of significant issues and the orderly conduct of its business.
"The superintendent, in consultation with the board secretary, will draft the proposed monthly board agenda five days in advance of the regular monthly action meeting and will review it with the (school) board president, prior to distribution to all board members."
