WW Council to act on zoning, credit cards

WEST WINDSOR — The Township Council plans to introduce a new zoning ordinance and discuss the possibility of allowing residents to pay taxes, recreation fees and other municipal expenses with a credit card at its meeting Tuesday.
The zoning ordinance, which was drafted by the township Planning Board, would create a new B-4 zone in the township.
The new zone would apply to four properties, totaling about 32 acres, located at the intersection of Route 571 and Southfield Road across from the Mobil gas station and Southfield Shopping Center on Route 571.
The four properties currently are zoned for single-family homes or offices.
The new B-4 zone would allow WWM Properties, which owns two of the four properties, to build a small-scale, village-style shopping center on its 16-acre portion of the site.
In other business, the council is expected to discuss a resolution allowing residents to pay a variety of municipal charges by credit card. The township is considering using the services of Fleet Bank, municipal officials say.
The council is scheduled to meet at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in the Municipal Building on Clarksville Road.
