New Hope

   Jan. 2, Brian McKavanagh, 36, foreman of a construction crew working at the Verizon job site in Fisher’s Alley, called police at 8:30 a.m. to report a criminal mischief incident sometime between New Year’s Eve and Jan. 2.
   When Mr. McKavanagh reported for work, police said, he found at least 3 feet of water in the foundation hole. He discovered someone had doubled a discharge hose and placed a rock on the hose preventing water from being pumped out of the hole. The total loss in manpower hours was estimated at $700.
   Jan. 4, Victoria Volpe of 49 W. Ferry St. called police at 9:30 a.m. to report a theft from her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.
   Someone removed her insurance and registration cards from the vehicle. She reportedly was getting her car inspected that day and noticed them missing, police said.
   Jan. 3, Ernest Bowman, 52, of 116 New St. contacted police at 6 p.m. to report criminal mischief to his property.
   Sometime removed a fence post from the ground and broke it in two.
   Jan. 6, Christopher Hudson, 42, of Taylorsville Road, Washington’s Crossing, Pa., was charged with drunken driving at 11:55 p.m. following a traffic accident in front of 28 S. Main St.
   Mr. Hudson was southbound on Route 32 when his vehicle struck two parked cars, police said. He refused a breathalyzer.
   Jan. 8, Michael J. Walker of Bristol, Pa., was charged with stealing a vehicle.
   Police said at 2:30 p.m. he was stopped at New Hope-Solebury High School for going over the posted 15 mpg. Police were told the 2003 Saturn SUV was stolen from a Middletown Township residence driveway the night prior.
   Mr. Walker later admitted stealing the car after he found a spare set of keys in a vehicle parked next to the Saturn, police said. Middletown Township Police were called. Mr. Walker was taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
