Philadelphia man may have been killed by falling from the deer stand, or while coming down the tree from the stand.

A 46-year-old man, who had been hunting in the woods off Bear Tavern Road in western Hopewell Township, was found dead Wednesday morning at the foot of a tree containing a deer stand.
Capt. George Meyer of the Hopewell Township Police Department said Wednesday afternoon that the man, Anthony R. Dodaro of Philadelphia, Pa., may have been killed by falling from the deer stand, or while coming down the tree from the stand.
"That’s the theory we’re working on at this point," the captain said. "There’s nothing suspicious about what happened, no indication of foul play of any kind."
Deer stands give hunters a platform in a tree from which their quarry can be shot.
County paramedics pronounced Mr. Dodaro dead at the foot of the tree just after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Capt. Meyer said the county medical examiner will probably perform an autopsy, to try to determine the cause of death.
Capt. Meyer said Mr. Dodaro was hunting on a 14-acre tract owned by the Grandin family, who had given him permission to hunt there.
"It was a regular hunting spot of his. He went there hunting Tuesday," Capt. Meyer said of Mr. Dodaro. "When he didn’t come home that night, his wife called the Grandins. A member of their family found Mr. Dodaro this morning, at the rear of Grandin property, and telephoned for help."
Responding were the township police, county paramedics, Hopewell Valley Emergency Services Unit and Union Fire Company.
