Obituaries for week of Nov. 23

Merle Jaeger
   Merle E. Jaeger, 70, of Pamplin, Va., and Boca Raton, Fla., died Sunday in Boca Raton.
   Born in Trenton, he resided in Lawrenceville until 1990.
   Mr. Jaeger retired as the president of Jaeger Sales & Supplies in 1990. His father J. Herbert Jaeger founded the plumbing and heating supply company in 1947.
   Mr. Jaeger was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
   He was a former member of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church and numerous business associations in Mercer County.
   Son of the late J. Herbert and Violet Diehl Jaeger, father of the late John Herbert Jaeger and brother of the late Harry H. Jaeger, he is survived by his wife Dorothy Thornton Jaeger, two sons Keith H. Jaeger and Edmund V. Jaeger. Also surviving are three grandchildren Tyler, Christopher and Jennifer Jaeger and a nephew Scott H. Jaeger.
   The funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
   Burial will be in the Ewing Church Cemetery.
   Friends may call on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Darryl T. Crossland
   Darryl T. Crossland, 42, died Jan. 11 at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
   Born in Princeton, Darryl was a lifelong Trenton area resident. He graduated from Notre Dame High School. He was employed by Trenton Board of Education at Trenton Central High School before health issues caused him to stop working in 1997.
   He was the son of Lefone "Cap" Crossland Jr. of Trenton and Joyce M. Crossland of Lawrenceville; the grandson of Elaine and the late Leonard Jackson of Lawrenceville; and the late Lefone Sr. And Rosa Crossland. He is also survived by a sister, Dawn Crossland, of Cranbury and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
   A memorial service was at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton. Cremation will be held privately.

Florence Henry
   Florence F. Henry, 81, died Jan. 10 at Tandem Healthcare of Lawrenceville.
   Mrs. Henry was the seventh of 12 children of the late Clarence and Emma Bose. She was a resident of Cape May for most of her life. She later moved to Ewing in the care of her daughter, Margaret Davis, before moving to Lawrenceville.
   Preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert P. Henry, and son, Wilbert T. Henry, she is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Davis, Barbara and Clifford Saunders of Sumter, S.C.; nieces raised as daughters and their husbands Barbara Ann and John Williams of Florida, Loretta and Michael Shea of Cape May, sisters and brother-in-law Sara Edgecome of Cape May, Dorothy Wise of Gulfport, Miss., Bessie and Ed Abercrombie of Columbus, Ohio, brothers and sister-in-law Charles "Buddy" Bose of Baltimore, Md., Joseph and Mae Bose of West Cape May; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews and other relatives.
   Funeral services were held Jan. 17 at Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church, 717 Franklin St., Cape May, with the Rev. Pauline Couch, officiating. Burial was at Veteran’s Cemetery, Cape May Court House. Arrangements were under the direction of Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton 08618.
Anna Sudol
   Anna Sudol, 88, of Lawrenceville, died Thursday, Jan. 23, at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center at Hamilton.
   Born in Trenton, she resided in Lawrence Township since 1955.
   Mrs. Sudol retired in 1974 from General Motors in West Trenton after 30 years of service.
   She was a member of St. James R.C. Church in Trenton and the Altar Rosary Society and St. James Senior Citizens Club.
   Wife of the late Joseph Sudol and mother of the late Joseph and Edward Hodnicki, Madeline Zebrowski, Al and Theodore Sudol, Genevieve Black and Florence Embley and sister of the late Mary Mario, Helen Collins, Steven and Michael Kupetsky, she is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law John and Jeanne Hodnicki, Martin and Joanne Sudol; four daughters and one son-in-law, Frances and Tom Wisinski, Jane and Marge Hodnicki and Cecelia Sidebottom. Also surviving are four sisters, Nelli Seamon, Eva Kennedy, Anna Gallino and Catherine Cignarella, sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
   The funeral was held on Monday from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd., Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at in St. James R.C. Church in Trenton. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamilton Township.

Stefania Kmiec
   Stefania Kapinos Kmiec, 89, of Lawrence Township died Thursday at the Compassionate Care Hospice.
   Born in Chicopee, Mass., she was raised in Poland and returned to the U.S. in 1937 and was a Trenton resident since. She retired in 1978 after 41 years of service with the New Jersey Porcelain Company of North Trenton. She was a member of the St. Hedwig’s Rosarians, Group 3 and the Polish Women’s Union.
   She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Kulig Kapinos, wife of the late Jozef Kmiec, and sister of the late Maria Walczak.
   Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Marian and Elizabeth Kmiec of Lawrenceville; two daughters, Maria Witaczek of Lawrenceville and Wladyslawa Czochara, in Poland; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
   The funeral was held on Monday at the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave. Funeral liturgy was celebrated Monday in St. Hedwig’s Church with the Rev. Atkadiusz Klejnowski officiating. Burial was held in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Ewing Township.
Darryl Crossland

Arthur Brigini
   Arthur C. Brigini, 77, of Trenton, died Monday in the St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
   Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident and a Navy veteran during World War II.
   Mr. Brigini was formerly employed with the state Department of Transportation for many years until his retirement.
   Son of the late Italo and Angelina Casciani Brigini, brother of the late John Brigini, Margaret Carmichael and Celestine Walton, he is survived by his lifelong partner, Rose Funari of Trenton; two daughters, Libby Funari of Puerto Rico and Linda Foulds and her husband Joseph of Yardville; a sister and brother-in-law Penny and Michael Tancreda of Lawrence; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Sesto and Margrith Brigini of Sacramento, Calif., Frank Brigini of Lawrence and Mary Brigini of Wrightstown; and is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
   Funeral service was held with local clergy officiating Wednesday at Chambers D’Errico & Correnti, 825 Chambers Street, Trenton.
   Burial was in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.

John Connell
   John J. Connell, 54, of Toms River died Jan. 14 at home.
   Born in Trenton, he lived in Toms River for the past 30 years. Mr. Connell was the librarian at Ocean County Library in Toms River since 1973. Previously, he worked in the Trenton Public Library.
   He was a graduate of the Lawrenceville School, class of 1966; Georgetown University, class of 1970 and Catholic University, class of 1971, earning his Masters degree in Library Science.
   Son of the late John J. and Joan Egan Connell, he is survived by his mother, Beatrice Connell of Hamilton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Anne Mimi Connell of Lawrenceville and Jacqueline B. Connell and Michael Daniells of England; one nephew, Bryn J. Connell-Daniells of England; his godmother, Marianne McIlvanine of Groveville; and several cousins.
   Funeral Service was Monday at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. Burial was in Ewing Cemetery.
   Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington St., Toms River, NJ 08753.
Charlotte Brunjes
   Charlotte Adele Brunjes died Monday at Hamilton Continuing Care Center, Hamilton.
   Born 1907 in Bremen, Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1930. She became an American citizen and lived in New York City until 1962, when she moved to New Jersey.
   Wife of the late Rudolf Carl Brunjes, she is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law Henry and Elsie Brunjes, of Lawrence, and George Brunjes of Warwick, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Evelyn Brunjes Cronise, David Brunjes, Benjamin Brunjes, Robert Brunjes and Charlotte Mae Brunjes; and four great grandchildren, Daniel, Justin, Jordan and Kaitlyn Cronise.
   Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Apply Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington.
   Burial will be upstate New York.
