To the editor
Several weeks ago, I was injured while putting up Christmas lights on my home in Manville. I had fallen from a ladder nearly 20 feet and injured my head and leg. The Manville police were called and arrived at my home within a couple of minutes after my fall.
I was not fully aware of the extent of my injuries and they were extremely helpful and kept me calm and in good spirits until the Manville Rescue Squad arrived. The Rescue Squad assessed my injuries and determined that it would be best for me to be brought to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick.
I want to thank everyone responsible for my care that day including my neighbors. It was the quick action and good decision making of everyone involved that has me recuperating well from my injuries. I always knew that Manville had a good Police Department and Rescue Squad but now I really know that we do.
I encourage everyone in town to help support these organizations because you never know when you will need them like I did. Too many of us take the services of these departments for granted and don’t realize how important they are until something like this happens.
I want to personally thank everyone that helped me that day and I will never forget what you all did for me.
