Volunteers helpful, and cheerful

To the editor

I wanted to publicly say thank you to the policemen and the volunteers of the Rescue Squad.
On Sunday evening, Jan. 5, my family and I were in need of their help. I had fallen, face first, down the entire flight of my cellar stairs. The fall alone was very scary to us all, but the fact that I have just had two hip replacements in the past 17 months made it an even bigger concern.
I found them to be very prompt, thorough and gentle. Their kindness and consideration was very heartwarming. The weather was snowy and icy but they still had a smile on their faces.
I would like to take the this opportunity to mention how important it is for every member of our community to help support these people as much as we can. We never know how important their services are until we ourselves are in need of them.
Once again, thank you and keep up the good work!
