HIGHTSTOWN — Police are seeking a fugitive who ran from Patrolman Ben Miller on Jan. 18.
According to police, Patrolman Miller spotted 20-year-old David A. Craig Jr., whose last known address is the Hightstown Housing Authority on Rogers Avenue, outside the building Saturday night, around 9:45. Police said the officer recognized Mr. Craig for having an active criminal warrant issued against him by East Windsor.
When Patrolman Miller approached the man, police reported, he ran into the Housing Authority and into the apartment of 25-year-old Ashanti Thomas, who, police said, refused to let the officer inside.
On Sunday, Patrolman Miller charged Ms. Thomas with obstructing the administration of law and hindering the apprehension of a suspect. She was released later that day.
But police still have not found Mr. Craig, who, in addition to the East Windsor warrant, is now wanted by borough police for resisting arrest and obstruction of the administration of law.
Mr. Craig is described as a black male, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall with medium-length hair braided in dreadlocks, weighing approximately 180 pounds. He also has a tattoo of the initials "DJ" on his left arm.
Anyone with information regarding Mr. Craig is asked to call borough police at 448-1234.
