JAMESBURG Santo John Intravartolo, 74, was a man who tirelessly served the community of Jamesburg for more than 20 years.

He was a lifelong resident of Jamesburg and graduated from the Jamesburg High School in 1945.
"He was very community oriented," said his son, John Intravartolo, who lives in Monroe.
When he was a young man, Santo Intravartolo was the manager of Intravartolo’s Market, a family-run business in Jamesburg. He also began a partnership, E.L. & S. Mr. Intravartolo also owned and operated Corkscrew Wine & Liquors for 20 years with his wife, Helen. He retired in 2000.
"He served this community for 20 years in the first aid squad as well," John Intravartolo said. "He was well-known and well-loved in the town of Jamesburg."
Along with volunteer service for the Jamesburg First Aid Squad, Santo Intravartolo also served as a councilman of Jamesburg for eight years in the 1970s.
Mayor Tony LaMantia will remember Santo Intravartolo as a good man who always lent a helping hand to the borough.
"He was a councilman while I was with the Fire Department. I remember that he was constantly volunteering and helping us out whenever we needed it," the mayor said. "He was a pillar of this community."
