PLAINSBORO — In cooperation with the township’s local post office and the Middlesex County Office on Aging, the township Police Department is now taking part in the Carrier Link Program.
The countywide program is designed to provide older adults with an extra measure of personal security.
It works by allowing local postal carriers, when delivering mail, to check and assure that the mail is picked up at participating residences. Should letters pile up or should the carrier notice any other warning signs of a potential problem, a call will be placed to the township Police Department.
The police then will check on the resident.
Participation is free. To sign up, fill out an application available at the township Police Department, located at 641 Plainsboro Road, or call Detective Steven Stryker at (609) 799-2333.
