Audrey O. Barta
FLORENCE Audrey O. Barta (nee Fedeski), 81, of Florence died Jan. 24 at Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly.
Born in Vineland, she lived in the Roebling-Florence area all of her life.
Mrs. Barta was a homemaker but had worked as a clerk for the NJ Division of Taxation in Trenton in her younger years.
Mrs. Barta enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading.
Wife of the late John Barta and sister of the late Pauline Cebulski, she is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Ann Barta and her friend, Ernie Yelencsics, of Florence and Rosemarie Miller and her husband, Glenn Miller, of Roebling; a son and daughter-in-law, John Barta II and Sandy Barta of Roebling; two sisters, Catherine Houghton of Moorestown and Anne Adams of Trenton; four grandchildren, Cliff, Kelly, Courtney and Kimberly; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Dennison Funeral Home, Florence. Military Chaplain Leon Bell Jr. officiated.
Interment was in Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Ethel M. Lippincott
BORDENTOWN CITY Ethel M. Lippincott, 95, died Jan. 23 at Burlington Woods Convalescent Center.
Born in Bordentown, she was a lifelong resident.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Bordentown and an associate of the Sisters of the Holy Nativity.
Daughter of the late Williard and Rebecca Stidfole and wife of the late H. Paul Lippincott, she is survived by her daughter, Paula A. Flesch of Bordentown City; two grandchildren, Joseph Flesch III and his wife, Stacy, of Pennington and Katharine Flesch of Bordentown; a great-grandson, Benjamin Flesch; a great-granddaughter Rebecca Flesch; and several nieces and a nephew.
Burial Office and Requiem Eucharist was celebrated at Christ Episcopal Church, Bordentown City with the Rev. Richard A.D. Benedict officiating.
Burial followed in Christ’s Church Cemetery.

Jean Elaine Wood
ROEBLING Jean Elaine Wood, 69, died Jan. 24 in the Burlington Woods Nursing Center, Burlington Township.
She was born in Florence, the daughter of the late George and Golda Rambo Ford. She was a lifelong resident.
Wide of the late Robert A. Wood Sr., she is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ford of Roebling; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Ruth Wood of Burlington; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Anna Wood of Roebling; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Mike Hall of Marietta, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tom Diamanti of Burlington; a daughter, Sandra Wood of Hamilton; a sister, Violet Lockard of Burlington; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held privately at the convenience of the family under the direction of Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, Roebling.

Edith M. Bowker
SPRINGFIELD Edith M. Bowker age 95, died Jan. 21 at her residence.
Born in Lumberton Township, she was a resident of Juliustown since 1923.
She was a retired lab technician with the Ionac Co. in Birmingham, now known as Siborn Chemical Corp.
She was a member of the Juliustown Methodist Church and the Springfield Township Senior Citizens.
Daughter of the late John and Maude Wells, wife of the late Amos Bowker, mother of the late Hazel Arnold and sister of the late Charles, Carlisle, William Wells and Emley Trout, she is survived by three granddaughters, Patricia Champagne of Pleasantville, Dale Maxwell of Millville and Nancy Berner of Southampton; four great-grandchildren, Amos Applegate, Dana Champagne, Christina Maxwell and Trish Berner; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Juliustown Methodist Church with the Rev. Carmine Coppola Jr., officiating.
Internment was in Juliustown Methodist Cemetery.

Edward Scherff
BORDENTOWN Edward Scherff, 95 died Jan. 18 in the Mill House Conv. & Rehab Center.
Born in Philadelphia, he lived many years in Morrisville, Pa. before living in Bordentown for the past 22 years.
He retired as a superintendent from G. M. Fisher Body in Ewing Township after 30 years.
He was a member of the Free Masons of Newtown and Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085.
Son of the late Gottlieb and Carrie Scherpf and husband of the late Margaret Forgach Scherff, he is survived by his wife, Francis "Sally" Mancine Scherff; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Olympia and Richard Knapp of Bordentown Township; two step-granddaughters and spouses, Patricia and Frank Lindner and Kristin and Joseph Oliva; and two step great-granddaughters, Isabella and Sofia Oliva.
Private funeral services and entombment were under the direction of the Hartmann Funeral Home of Bordentown.

Anne Smith
BORDENTOWN Elizabeth Anne "Betsy" Smith, 68, of Bordentown Township died Jan. 22 at home.
Born in Woodbury, she resided in Levittown, Pa. prior to moving to Bordentown in 1983.
She was a graduate of Duke University.
She was a retired chemist for Morton-Thiokol Company in Ewing.
Daughter of the late Harold A. and Pauline H. Peterson, and wife of the late Daniel Smith, she is survived by three step-children, Daniel Joseph Smith of Rio de Janeiro, Diane Musick of Greencastle, Pa., and Helen E. Smith of San Anselmo, Calif.; a step-grandson, Andrew Musick; and several cousins and close friends.
Funeral services were held at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown, with Father Leo Duschek officiating.
Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
Frances L. Hritz
FLORENCE Frances L. Hritz, 80, died Jan. 22 at Compassionate Care Hospice.
Born in Czechoslovakia, she resided in the Trenton/Hamilton area for most of her life before recently moving to Florence.
She retired as a key punch operator from the State of New Jersey, Department of Institutions and Agencies after 18 years.
She also worked during World War II as a riveter for the Department of Defense-Fleetwings in Bristol.
She was involved in the Sokol Gymnastic Society, the Hamilton Elks Lodge 2262 and the Catholic Adopted Mothers Association of Central New Jersey.
She was the wife of the late Paul F. Hritz and daughter of the late Joseph and Francesca Hora. She is survived by her children, Paul J. Hritz of Hamilton, James S. and Karin Hritz of Yardville and Joann and Carl VanHise of Cookstown; her grandchildren, Megan, Jennifer and Stephanie VanHise; her in-laws, Mary and Jack Steepy of Trenton, Yvonne Hritz of Orlando, Fla., Margaret Hritz of Mercerville, Ann and Andy Hritz of Newbern, N.C., Ann Hritz of Hamilton, Jean and Steve Hritz of Sarasota, Fla. and Janice and Larry Hritz of Beach Haven.
Funeral services were held at Kutch Funeral Home, Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Church, Trenton.
Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Scott Sr.
TRENTON Richard L. Scott Sr., 53, died suddenly at home on Jan. 21.
Born in Trenton, he lived in Florence all of his life before moving to Trenton four years ago.
Mr. Scott was a retired self-employed locksmith. He was a member of the National Locksmith Association. He enjoyed sports, hunting and bodybuilding in his younger years.
He is survived by his former wife, Cindy Bassett Scott of Roebling; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracey and Bruce Fatto of Hillsborough and Kelly and Danny Lung of Florence; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Scott Jr. and Tammy of Roebling; a sister, Jean Cain of Willingboro; and four grandchildren, Amanda, Cameron, Zachery and Madison.
A Memorial Service was held at the Dennison Funeral Home, Florence. The Rev. Felix F. Venza, pastor of St. Clare’s Church in Florence officiated.
Internment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington.
Veronica M. Parker
LANSDALE, Pa. Veronica M. Parker, 82, of Lansdale Pa. died Jan. 25 in the Brittany Pointe Estates, Lansdale, Pa.
She was born in Conshohocken, Pa., daughter of the late Dominic and Michelina Spina Mazzoli.
She lived in Roebling from 1952 to 1988 before moving to Edgewater Park, where she lived until 1997.
She was a retired office manager, employed by Ayres Pontiac/Cadillac of Burlington with 15 years of service.
Mrs. Parker was a former member of Willitts Hogan Tonne American Legion Unit 39, Roebling, former member and past president of Roebling Elementary School #5 PTA, member of the Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Roebling and First Christian Academy, Burlington.
Wife of the late William G. Parker, she is survived by two sons, Michael W. Parker of Phoenix, Ariz. and Stephen E. Parker of Placitas, N.M; three daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie Parker Montagano of Voorhees, Laura Parker of New Fairfield, Conn. and Cynthia and Mark Hollern of Florence; six grandchildren, Vincent and Daniel Montagano, Marleigh and Ryan Parker and Patrick and Maura Hollern; two great-grandchildren, Melanie and Natalie Montagano; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 30 at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling.
Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling on Jan. 30 at 9:30 am.
Burial will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in North Hanover Township.
