Driver charged with careless driving and with violating the ban on 102-inch-wide trucks on interstate runs from using Route 31.

A short section of southbound Route 31 was closed for four hours early Wednesday morning after an oversize tractor-trailer flipped onto its side, blocking both lanes.
Hopewell Township Capt. George Meyer said the driver, Magid Tehrani, 46, of Decatur, Ala., was not injured in the accident. No other vehicles were involved.
Mr. Tehrani has been charged with careless driving and with violating the ban on 102-inch-wide trucks on interstate runs from Route 31.
Mr. Tehrani was carrying a load of paper and plastic products from Connecticut to Philadelphia, with no stops in this state, Capt. Meyer said. The truck has been impounded and is being inspected by the State Police’s commercial vehicles unit.
Capt. Meyer said Mr. Tehrani lost control of his truck as he entered the Pennington Circle at 1:40 a.m. The truck went up onto the curb in the center of the circle, then rolled onto its side, blocking both southbound lanes near the point where Route 546 intersects Route 31, on the western side of the circle.
The truck did not lose its load.
The Pennington Fire Company responded along with township police. The road was reopened at 5 a.m., after the truck was towed from the scene.
Mr. Tehrani has been released. The case will be heard in municipal court.
