Rite Feeny
Rite A. Feeny, 65, died Friday at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Hamilton.
Born in New York City, she retired from Manufacturers Hanover Trust in Brooklyn.
Ms. Feeny was a past member of the Greater N.Y. Girls Scout Council, Boys Scout Troop 944 and a former member of Our Lady of Refuge Parish in Brooklyn.
Daughter of the late Andrew and Kathryn Gougherty Pinto, sister of the late Andrew Pinto, she is survived by her husband Edwin B. Feeny, one daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Carter Pennington of Lawrenceville, one son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Christina Feeny of Brooklyn, grandchildren, Andy Cooper, Kathryn Clair, John Pennington, Declan Feeny, one great-grandchild Fernando Cooper III, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Catherine and Eddie Hennessey of Oldsmar, Fla., and Donna Jean O’Flaherty of Staten Island, one sister-in-law Ann Pinto of Boca Raton, Fla. and one nephew, Brendan O’Flaherty.
The funeral was held Monday at Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Lillian Tharney
Lillian A. Tharney, 98, of Lawrenceville died Friday at Tandem Health Care Center, Lawrenceville.
Ms. Tharney resided in Springfield, Mass., before moving to Monmouth Junction, where she resided from 1938 until 1970. Ms. Tharney then moved to Tampa, Fla., where she lived until moving to Lawrenceville in 1985.
During World War II, Ms. Tharney served as an Air-Raid Warden in Monmouth Junction and also worked at Unexcelled Manufacturing Corporation in Cranbury. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, Ms. Tharney and her family were known for delivering daily and Sunday newspapers throughout South Brunswick Township. Ms. Tharmey was a former member of the St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Rosary Society.
Wife of the late Bartholomew B. Tharney and mother of the late Alfred B. Tharney, she is survived by two sons, Leonard J. Tharmey of Lawrenceville, and Thaddeus R. Tharney of North Brunswick; three daughters, Joan T. Petruska of Hendersonville, N.C., Rite T. Bare of New Iberia, La., and Marie T. Casey of St. Pete Beach, Fla.; nineteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Monmouth Junction.
Interment follow in St. James Cemetery, Jamesburg.

Anna Penkola
Anna J. Penkola, 75, of Lawrenceville, died Saturday at home.
Born in Skillman, she resided in Lawrenceville for 53 years.
Ms. Penkola retired in 1989 from Heinemann Electric after 34 years in the repair service department.
She was a member of St. Hedwig Church, Lawrence Senior Citizen Club 2, the Circle Club and the ladies auxiliary of the North Trenton American Legion Post 458.
Daughter of the late Carl and Veronica Pieslak Kolpack, mother of the late Raymond B. Penkola and sister of the late Jean Miller, she is survived by her husband Raymond J. Penkola, a son Charles M. Penkola and three brothers, Albert, Carl and Edward Kolpack, and a sister Florence Wisnewski.
The funeral will be held today (Thursday) at 8 a.m. from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Hedwig Church in Trenton.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamilton Township.
John Steinbeiser
John T. Steinbeiser, Jr., 83, of Morrisville died Jan. 29 in St. Mary Medical Center, Middletown Township.
Born in Altoona, Pa., Mr. Steinbeiser has been a resident of Morrisville for over 42 years, having moved there from Wilmington.
Mr. Steinbeiser had been employed for over 40 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail, retiring in 1962 as General Forman of the Morrisville yards. He was an Army veteran who served during World War II, a member of Holy Trinity Church and had served as the church’s sexton; he also was a member of the VFW Post in Morrisville.
Son of the late John T. Sr. and Esther (Walz) Steinbeiser, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Romayne M. (Harney) Steinbeiser; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Geneva E. And Richard Frick of Newark, Del., Patricia and Carl Schell of Morrisville, and Romayne Grosse and her fiancé Edward Kucowski of Morrisville; four sons, John T. and his wife Kay Steinbeiser of Newark, Del., Robert Steinbeiser of Morrisville, Tim Steinbeiser of Lawrenceville, and Paul and Janet Steinbeiser of Frenchtown; one sister, Mary Helen Benson of Northridge, Cal.; 19 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in Holy Trinity Church in Morrisville. Internment followed in the parish cemetery in Lower Makefield Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Holy Trinity Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville.
John Amorosa
John J. Amorosa, who resided in Lawrenceville for many years, died on Jan. 28 at The Medical Center of Princeton. He was 96 years old.
Mr. Amorosa was born in Raritan.
He moved to Lawrenceville in 1953 after his marriage to Mary Castronava of Trenton. His wife died in 1976.
Mr. Amorosa worked for 50 years with distinction for the Jersey Central Railroad, retiring in 1971. While he had no children himself, Mr. Amorosa was the patriarch for many years of a large family made up of the children and grandchildren of his three brothers and sister, as well as his cousins. He was also a prominent member of the Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville, where for many years after his retirement, despite his age, he was the regular altar boy at the 7 a.m. Mass. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7000 until 1981.
The funeral was held on Friday at the funeral home of Poulson & Van Hise, 650 Lawrenceville Rd, Lawrenceville.
The Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at the Church of St. Ann.
Entombment will be at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Bridgewater.

Laura Schilk
Laura E. Dziak Schilk, 78, of Trenton, died Wednesday at the Capital Health System at Helene Fuld Medical Center.
Born in Trenton, Mrs. Schilk was a lifelong Trenton resident. She retired in 1990 after 50 years of service with the Pierce Roberts Rubber Company of Ewing.
She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Kozek Dziak, sister of the late Joseph Dziak and Stella M. Costantini. Surviving are her husband Adam Schilk of Trenton; two sisters, Josephine M. Rak of Lawrenceville and Sophie Mazur of Atlanta, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Saturday from the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave., and funeral liturgy was celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 540 Chestnut Ave.
Burial was in the St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
Peter Nerwinski
Peter John Nerwinski, 81, of Placerville, Calif., died Jan. 24 in California. Born in Trenton, he resided in California for the past 60 years.
He served in the California Conservation Corps in 1937. He is a Navy veteran of World War II, where he achieved the rank of Boatswain’s Mate, Second Class.
Son of the late Sophie and Paul Nerwinski and brother of the later Joseph, John and Herman Nerwinski, Frances Ozga, Josephine Nerwinski and Genevieve Stumpo, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia; sons and daughters, John, Richard, Rodney, James, Peter, Shelly and Peggy of Placerville, Calif., Carol of Idaho and Joyce of the Bay area; a brother Frank Nerwinski of Lawrenceville; and sisters, Veronica Sparra and Marion Ranke of Lawrenceville, Helen Balla of Hamilton and Anne Nerwinski of Trenton. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Hedwig Church, 872 Brunswick Ave., Trenton. Private Interment was in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Hamilton.
Masses in Mr. Nerwinski’s name would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Lisiecki Memorial Home, Trenton.
