According to a police report, the man was inside the Wawa convenience store on Triangle Road at about 2 a.m. when the attempted theft occurred.
The man told police he saw someone slowly backing his vehicle out, at which point he ran out of the store to confront the thief.
The thief immediately got out of the vehicle and jumped into a late 1990s model black Nissan sports car occupied by two males who appeared to be in their late teens.
