   A police blotter item in last week’s issue incorrectly reported Manville resident Scott Minegar had been charged with writing fraudulent checks. Mr. Minegar was never charged.

Police and fire officials extinguished a car fire in the Lowlands region of the borough, near Conrail Yard, at 10:31 p.m. Feb. 1.
   The 2-year-old Oldsmobile was abandoned at the time officials arrived. The Elizabethtown Water Co. reported the fire to the Police Department. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.

   A sidewalk light on Knopf Street was damaged between midnight and 7 a.m. Feb. 1.
   There are no suspects. The damage estimate is $100.

Geniva Sheffer-Vicari, 21, of North Third Avenue was charged at 3:27 a.m. Feb. 1 with DWI, careless driving, possessing an open container of alcohol, driving without insurance and failure to change her address on her driver’s license.
   She also was charged on a $214 Lawrence Township warrant. Her father posted bail and she was released to his custody, pending a court appearance for the motor vehicle violations.

Peter Gianotti, 38, of Hillsborough was charged at 1:05 a.m. Feb. 1 with DWI and failure to keep right, the latter of which caused police to pull him over.
   He was stopped at the intersection of Dukes Parkway and North 13th Avenue and was released to his wife, pending a court appearance.

The interior wooden door of a South Main Street residence was forcibly removed from its hinges overnight between Jan. 30 and 31. There are no suspects.
   Damage is estimated to be $200.

Lora Rinyu, 25, of Bound Brook was charged at 1:07 p.m. Jan. 30 with driving with a suspended license and no registration.
   She was pulled over at the intersection of Pope Street and West Camplain Road and was released, pending a court appearance.

Andre M. Bailey, 65, whose last known address is in New Brunswick, was charged with hindering apprehension and using the alias "Alan A. Bradley."
   Mr. Bailey was stopped at 8:47 p.m. Jan. 29 on South Main Street near South Fifth Avenue. He is lodged in Somerset County Jail in Somerville in lieu of $1,500 bail, cash only, no 10 percent.

A 2002 Dodge Neon was vandalized between 5 and 10 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Fashion Bug lot on North Main Street, according to the police report.
   Someone broke the passenger-side rear window but did not take any belongings from the car. The damage is estimated to be $100.
