Barbara Rice Flanner, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 30, at her home in Cranbury.
Born in Hartford, Conn., she lived in Hightstown for 14 years before to moving to Cranbury in 1964. A former employee of Benson & Benson of Princeton, she had also been employed by the former Hightstown Trust Company. Ms. Flanner had also owned and operated the Now and Then Shops in Cranbury. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Peddie Golf Course and the Women’s Club of Hightstown. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her daughter, Susan R. Flanner, is deceased. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Patrick R. Flanner; a son, Gregg U. of Cranbury; two grandchildren, Megan of Ewing and Timothy Patrick of New York; a brother, Robert Rice of West Hartford, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was held Monday, Feb. 3, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Hightstown. Interment was held at Brainerd Cemetery in Cranbury. Contributions may be made in Ms. Flanners memory to the church. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home of Princeton.
