Voters can vote on the 3.7-cent tax rate used to provide equipment for Hillsborough firefighters and first aid crews, Saturday.
The rate is the same as the current rate, setting the tax bill for the average homeowner at $120.25 for the year (based on the estimated average home assessment of $325,000). Last year, the average bill was $111, based on the average value of $300,000.
A separate question will seek approval for the purchase of a new fire truck, not to exceed $260,000.
Polls will be open between 2 and 9 p.m. for voters to support or reject the Hillsborough Township Board of Fire Commissioners’ $1.5 million fire district budget $1.2 million to be raised by taxes.
In addition to the budget, voters will be able to vote to fill two board seats.
