Frank Chupinka

   FLAGTOWN — Frank Chupinka died Thursday, Feb. 6, in St. Peter’s Medical Center, New Brunswick. He was 75.
   Born in Homestead, Pa., he moved to Manville in 1941. He later moved to Flagtown, where he lived for the last 42 years.
   Mr. Chupinka served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served in Germany in the U.S. Occupational army.
   After the war he played semi-pro football for the former Manville Eagles.
   He worked as a mason until his retirement for the Taylor-Forge division of Gulf and Western. During his time there he served as president of the local chapter of the United Steelworkers of America.
   He was also a member of Thomas J. Kavanaugh Post 2290 VFW in Manville.
   Surviving are his wife, Betty Chupinka; a son, Frank of Stanhope; a daughter, Rosemarie Reed of Flagtown; two sisters, Helen Mizerak of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Mildred Mock of Bridgewater; and six grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Feb. 11 in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, Hillsborough, followed by a Mass in the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Manville. Burial was in the Holy Ghost Cemetery in Manville.
