LETTERS: Thanks for efforts after January fire

In the early morning of Jan. 18, we had the extraordinary experience of watching as the Monmouth Junction and Kendall Park fire departments fought diligently and bravely to extinguish our blazing house.
Our family is deeply touched by the spirit of these fine citizens. Their competence and their kindness inspire us. Deputy Fire Marshall Michael J. Soltys went beyond the requirements of his work to help us during the days that followed. All of us in South Brunswick are indeed fortunate to be served by these fire fighters.
We wish to thank not only the fire fighters, but also the police who came to our aid so quickly and helped to be sure everyone was out of danger. In South Brunswick, as we learned that bitter cold night, Tom Morris of the Department of Recreation and Community Affairs provides rooms for fire victims courtesy of our local Red Roof Inn. We wish to acknowledge the help of the Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad who provided us with warm blankets and a warm truck during the blaze.
Our family has been overwhelmed by the generosity of our wonderful neighbors and the South Brunswick School community. Due to their extraordinary friendship and support, we are quickly recovering from the fire of Jan. 18. We thank you, one and all.
