Hopewell Township police are looking for a man who robbed the Foremost Mart convenience store on Route 31 on Feb. 6.
Township Capt. George Meyer said the robbery took place at about 8:40 p.m. that day at the store, located on the northbound side of Route 31 at the Pennington Circle.
"A man came into the store, bought a bag of potato chips and left," Capt. Meyer said. "A few minutes later, he came into the store again and brought another bag of potato chips to the checkout counter. This time, while the cash register was open, he screamed ‘I need money!’ and grabbed $60 from the cash register two 20-dollar bills and four five-dollar bills and fled."
The robber was described as a white man, in his 30s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds, with black hair, a full black beard and dark-colored eyes. He was wearing a black knit cap and dark green jacket.
Detective Lance Maloney is investigating the case. Anyone with information that might lead to the solution of the case should call the township police at 737-3100.
