A Celebration of the Written Word is the theme of this year’s University League Nursery School Book Festival, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at Community Park Elementary School, 372 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
The Cat in the Hat will once again be on hand to help host the festival. Books for children and parents will be for sale, and there will be book-related crafts for children. Entertainment includes music, dance, storytelling, puppet shows, and more. Lunch and homemade treats will be for sale throughout the afternoon.
Making its debut will be Family Favorites around the World, the University League Nursery School cookbook, a compilation of international recipes contributed by ULNS parents, staff and friends. The cookbook, priced at $9, includes such fun chapters as "Cooking with Kids" and "Holiday Celebrations" along with standard sections on appetizers, entrees, side dishes and desserts.
There will also be a silent auction with items donated by businesses, individuals and nonprofit organizations.
All proceeds will benefit the University League Nursery School’s scholarship fund and the Trenton Literacy Program. Festival admission is $3 (children free).
