James A. Bulvanoski

MONTGOMERY James A. Bulvanoski died Thursday while vacationing in Savannah, Ga. He was 57.
Born in Perth Amboy, he grew up in Fords.
Mr. Bulvanoski was founder and owner of SPT Electrical Supply Co., retiring from the business at age 55 after 16 years.
From 1982 to 1984, he was vice president and controller of American Cellular Network Co. (Ancell), the first cellular phone company in the nation, now known as Cellular One.
He was chairman of the Marketing Committee of IMARK, an association of electrical distributors and was named IMARK Distributor of the Year in 1998. In 1999, he received the Cutler-Hammer Outstanding Performance Award. He was named Best of the Best by the National Association of Electrical Distributors.
He was an independent director at Opinion Research Corp., a member of the Philips Lighting Corp. Distributor Advisory Council, a trustee and administrator of SPT Employee Profit Sharing Plan and ESOP Trust and was founder and president of Frontage Management LLC.
He was a graduate of Monmouth University and received a master’s degree in business administration and a CPA license from Rutgers University. He was a member of the Army Reserve.
A co-chair of the NJ Driving Fore a Cure golf event, he was named to the Million Dollar Club of the American Diabetes Association. He was a member of the building committee of the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Montgomery and the Cherry Valley Country Club board of directors.
He was a youth basketball and baseball coach for 12 years, a Cub Scout leader for four years, a CCD instructor and was active in the Rutgers and Monmouth University alumni associations.
Following retirement he enjoyed golf and world travel as well as pursuing interests in cars, fine wines and Lionel trains.
Son-in-law of the late John Goss, he is survived by his parents, Leo and Gladys Bulvanoski of Fords; his wife of 32 years, Joan Bulvanoski of Montgomery; sons Jared Bulvanoski of Raleigh, N.C., and Jay Bulvanoski of Montgomery; brother Leo Bulvanoski of Bethlehem, Conn.; sisters and brothers-in-law Charlotte Kalamar of Basking Ridge, Suzanne and Steven Reynolds of Princeton, and Lee Ann and Tom Melby of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; mother-in-law Winifred Goss of Vineland; sisters-in-law Sheree Stone of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Boni Scarpa of Stone Harbor; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Skillman Road, Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 U.S Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.

Retired from Postal Service
Lydia Griggs of Princeton died Thursday at the Merwick unit of The Medical Center at Princeton. She was 72.
Born in Princeton, she was a resident of the Princeton-Trenton area her entire life.
She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service office in Princeton.
She attended the Princeton public school system.
She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she was the financial secretary and a member of the missionary board. She was a member of Oziel Grand Chapter Board of the Order of Eastern Stars P.H.A.
Daughter of the late George Marshall Sr. and Ethel Marshall-Brown, sister of the late George Marshall Jr., stepdaughter of the late Thomas Brown, she is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Douglas Griggs, Tom and Minnie Griggs, all of Trenton, and John Griggs of Fredericksburg, Va.; goddaughter Julia Bryant of Eastampton; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 1300 Greenwood Ave., Trenton.
Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Organizational service will be conducted at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Keith Marshall officiating.
Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery.

Gertrude G. Fetko
Daughter lives in Princeton
HOLLAND, Pa. Gertrude Gallagher Fetko died Saturday at Twining Village Retirement Community.
She was a former resident of the Lawndale section of Philadelphia.
Wife of the late Jon A. Fetko, mother of the late Suzanne F. Quinn, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law Barbara F. and Francis Carolan of Princeton; son and daughter-in-law John A. Jr. and Kathleen Fetko of Lexington, Ky.; sister Ruth Ginley; seven grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Saint William Church, 6200 Rising Sun Ave., Philadelphia.
Burial will follow in Ivy Hill Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the church.

Owned Cranbury farm
CRANBURY Emil C. Witt died Monday at The Medical Center at Princeton. He was 82.
Born in Cranbury, he was a lifelong resident.
He owned a farm on Ancil Davison Road in Cranbury until 1957, when he sold the farm and began working for Hermann Trucking of North Brunswick, retiring in 1982.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Hightstown B.P.O.E. Elks for over 40 years and the Hightstown VFW Post 5700. He was a charter member of the Cranbury First Aid Squad and member and past chief of the Cranbury Fire Co.
Husband of the late Esther R. Witt, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Linda Witt of Cranbury and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at A.S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 North Main St., Cranbury.
Burial will be at Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury.
Visiting hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
