The original members of "Dear Liza" have reunited and will perform at the Conduit in Trenton Feb. 28.
Two members singer-guitarist Scott Rednor and bassist Greg Glasson grew up in Pennington. The other members of the band are singer-guitarist Cory Hubbert and drummer Glenn Grossman. Before joining "Dear Liza," Mr. Grossman played with Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan and other top performers.
Several years ago, the band established a strong reputation for powerful, jam-based rock and roll. After arriving East from Colorado, they journeyed out onto a 275-show-a-year schedule, sharing stages with Sheryl Crow, Lenny Kravitz, Rusted Root, Barenaked Ladies, and BluesTraveler. During a show at the Olympic Arena in Lake Placid,N.Y., "Dear Liza" brought the entire crowd to its feet.
The band currently is making plans to record and release an album containing new material, as well as previously unreleased, older material. The Conduit show will be recorded to capture bonus live tracks for the album.
"When you have chemistry as undeniable as we do, you have to make the music," Mr. Rednor said by way of explaining the band’s decision to get back together.
Keyboardist George Hazelrigg, a Princeton native, will join "Dear Liza" at Conduit on the Hammond B3 organ, Wurlitzer, and whatever else will fit on the stage. Mr. Hazelrigg has played with Dennis Chambers, Slim Man, and Chester Thompson.
