Facilities head to leave university

Kathleen Mulligan, Princeton University’s vice president for facilities for the past four years, will leave the university June 30 to pursue other interests.
Ms. Mulligan came to Princeton from Oregon State University, where she had been director of facilities services.
At Princeton, she focused on improving customer orientation of the facilities area while also playing a key role in overseeing all aspects of the university’s physical plant, and in the planning, design and construction of more than $900 million in capital projects.
She also oversees the departments of real estate, housing, dining services, building services and conference and visitor services, as well as Prospect House and Palmer House.
Ms. Mulligan has led efforts to establish a landscape master plan to improve campus circulation and provide a more cohesive plan for accommodating new buildings and replacing and enhancing plantings, and to establish the university’s first comprehensive signage program to help visitors identify buildings and find their way around the campus.
She also led the initiative to create additional staff recognition opportunities in facilities, including a new program introduced last fall that recognized four outstanding employees.
The university will begin a search shortly to find a successor.
