Scottie comes from an athletic family.

Randi Temple comes from an athletic family. Her younger sister Megan plays basketball and is an all-star softball legend in Bordentown. Her father Marty is a wonderful softball and basketball coach, who has taught his daughter the fundamentals of both games.
On Tuesday night, Randi Temple took those fundamentals and walked into Palmyra’s gym and turned it into the "Temple of Doom" for the Panthers. Not only did she score a team-high 16 points to lead the Scotties to a 63-49 victory, but she also tallied the 1000th point of her career with 2:01 left in the second quarter for good measure.
"It (the 1,000th) was a jump shot in the paint," said Temple, who was lavished with flowers, balloons and bears after making the shot.
Things did not start out well for Bordentown, which trailed 13-4 after a quarter. However, in the second quarter Temple and her teammates started draining their shots and, consequently, they cut Palmyra’s lead to one (24-23) by the half. Then, the Scotties were able to pull away with an explosive fourth quarter (17-8).
Since the Scotties were eliminated from playoff contention on the cutoff date (the game was snowed out), all eyes have been on Temple and her quest for the 1,000 points. She came into Tuesday’s game needing six points for the record. She didn’t disappoint.
"I was really nervous (before the game)," noted Temple, who calmed down once she started putting in some shots.
Bordentown, however, has many excellent players, including the tenacious Lisa Gilardi and Lotoya Taylor, who each poured in 10 points. Tochi Shilow (eight points), Emily Napolitano (six points), Taryn Lynch (six points), Michele Gore (five points) and Lauren Nucera (two points) all played pivotal roles in securing the victory. Furthermore, Temple’s teammates went out of their way to get her the ball so she could get her 1,000th point in this her junior year.
Last Saturday, Lawrence beat Bordentown, 66-61, in a come-from-behind heartbreaker. The Scotties had a six-point lead in the game’s final minutes, but they couldn’t put it away, mainly because Gore who is the soul of the team, fouled out. Nevertheless, the Scotties put up some strong numbers. Temple made a trio of three-pointers on her way to scoring 21 points. Taylor tossed in 13 points. Napolitano tallied seven points while Gore and Shilow chipped in with a half a dozen points each. Lynch (five points) and Gilardi (three points) also scored for Bordentown.
Last Thursday at Florence, Temple erupted for 22 points to lead the Scotties to a 59-37 win over the Flashes. Gore and Taylor added 10 points apiece while Shilow (four points), Napolitano (three points), Lynch (six points), Rosie Fedak (two points), Nucera (a point) and Lisa Gilardi (a point) also scored for Bordentown.
Temple now has 1010 for her career. Furthermore, she is averaging over 16 points a game and she has made 32 three-pointers this season. Not bad for a junior.
Although there are no games remaining on the schedule, the Scotties (11-11) may pick up a game this week.
