I’d like to comment on the Board of Education’s request for a 6.7 percent increase to the school budget.
Does anyone on the board have any clue that the economy is in a recession? Of course not, they just keep digging into the bottomless pockets of the taxpayers of this town.
Look around, Board of Education members, and you will see that everyone is putting the brakes on spending …that is, everyone but you.
That increase is outrageous and I’d be willing to bet that it even includes that $400,000 artificial field again this year.
And, even if the public votes it down it will only be reduced by a marginal amount, one hardly even worth mentioning.
Listen up, Board of Education members, you need to become fiscally responsible for your spending the way that taxpaying households have to be responsible for their spending.
