One meeting is set for March 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hopewell Township Municipal Building.
Three information meetings about the Lawrence Hopewell Trail the planned 20- mile bike and walking path have been set.
They are scheduled for: March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Town Hall; March 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hopewell Township Municipal Building; and April 1 at 9 a.m. at Bristol-Myers Squibb.
The public is invited to the presentations and question/answer sessions by the Lawrence Hopewell Task Force.
The task force consists of representatives of the corporate, nonprofit, and public lands through which the trail will run, as well as advisors from The D&R Greenway, NJDOT, NJDEP (Green Acres) and people familiar with issues involving trails, traffic and bicycling.
The trail is expected to be a 20-mile loop for bicyclists and pedestrians in Lawrence and Hopewell townships. As planned, it will provide a designated area for individuals and families to enjoy a safe place to ride bikes, walk, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The trail will run on township and county lands and roads as well as property belonging to Bristol-Myers Squibb, Educational Testing Service, The Lawrenceville School and the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association, in addition to easements through private lands and lands protected in the agricultural preservation program.
