   Douglas Padla, 42, of Valley Road was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) in a vehicle on Feb. 19.
   According to police, Mr. Padla was given a sobriety test at approximately 10 p.m., just outside the Wawa convenience store on Triangle Road, as he was preparing to start his vehicle.
   Minutes earlier, police had received a report of a drunken driver who was driving in an erratic manner along Route 206.
   Mr. Padla’s vehicle matched the description of the vehicle in question and, following the sobriety test and a subsequent investigation, Mr. Padla was then charged and taken into custody. A search of Mr. Padla’s vehicle uncovered what was determined to be marijuana.
   Mr. Padla was later released pending an appearance in Municipal Court.

David Jamieson, 32, of Metuchen was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding on Feb. 14.
   According to police, Mr. Jamieson was stopped for speeding at approximately 10: 20 p.m. on Marshall Drive near South Branch Road. Upon being questioned by the officer, Mr. Jamieson produced a badge and claimed to be a Somerset County corrections officer.
   After further questioning, Mr. Jamieson then admitted that the badge actually belonged to a friend.
   Mr. Jamieson was transported to police headquarters for processing and later released pending an appearance in Municipal Court.
