FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — A teen-ager leaving Freehold Township High School received a summons for careless driving following her involvement in a two-car motor vehicle accident in front of the school.
According to information provided by the Freehold Township Police Department, two cars, both driven by township residents, collided on Feb. 27 at 12:19 p.m. in front of the school on Elton-Adelphia Road.
According to police, Tonya Feldstein, 18, driving a 2001 two-door blue Oldsmobile, attempted to make a left turn onto Elton-Adelphia Road from the high school parking lot.
At the same time, Mary Hagen, 79, driving a brown 1993 Ford Taurus, was traveling east on that street.
As Feldstein exited the school parking lot, she pulled in front of Hagen’s vehicle and was struck on the driver’s side door, according to police.
Police Officer Stephen D’Antonio responded to the call as did the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad and the Freehold Township Independent Fire Company. Both drivers and a passenger in the Hagen vehicle were transported to CentraState Medical Center, West Main Street, with various injuries.
A careless driving summons was issued to Feldstein.
