The 33rd annual Monmouth Festival of the Arts will take place April 5-9, beginning with the artists’ reception gala on Saturday evening, at 7:30 p.m. at Monmouth Reform Temple, 332 Hance Avenue, Tinton Falls.

This is an opportunity to meet the artists, enjoy the catered cocktail party and see the work of 250 artists showcased in nine separate galleries. Tickets for the opening are $40 in advance, $45 at the door, and may be reserved by calling (732) 747-8278 or (732) 747-9365.

Music will be provided by the Manalapan Battleground Symphony String Quartet.

On Sunday, the festival opens at 12:30 p.m. with a series of family day events. Frank Finale will share his love of the Jersey shore through the books he has written for children, among them, The Gull’s Story. A children’s art workshop for ages 4-11 will be available during the afternoon as well.

At 6:30 p.m., the Clarinet Choir of the Rutgers University Alumni Concert Band will present a musical program of light classical selections, show medleys and pop favorites. Artists demonstrations, for adults, will go on throughout the day. The galleries will be open for buying and browsing from 12:30-8:30 p.m.

On Monday and Tuesday, the festival will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Artists demonstrations will continue.

On Tuesday evening from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Gladys Goldberg and Karen Karl will present "Yehudi Amichai, Israeli Poet: His Work, His Life and Loves, His Link to Israel’s Dynamic History." Demonstrations will continue throughout the day.

On Wednesday, the festival will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Galleries will be open for browsing and buying. Artists demonstrations will continue.

Daily admission to all events is adults, $7; seniors (65 and over) and students (through high school), $4; and series ticket, $18 (good Sunday through Wednesday).
