Plainsboro approves budget

PLAINSBORO — Despite facing a tax rate increase for the first time in five years, the Township Committee unanimously adopted a $16 million municipal budget for 2003 Wednesday.
The budget represents a 6-percent increase over last year’s budget of $15.1 million.
The tax rate will be 33.45 cents per $100 of assessed property value — an increase of 1.35 cents over last year’s tax rate.
With that rate, the owner of a home assessed at the township average of $188,000 would pay $628.86 in municipal property taxes — up 4.2 percent from last year.
