Community Bulletin Board PTA/PTO council plans ‘Candidates’ Night’ April

The North Brunswick Joint Council of the PTA/PTO will host "Candidates’ Night" for the Board of Education candidates April 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the cafetorium at Linwood Middle School, Linwood Place.

Area resident music director of ‘Yankees’

North Brunswick resident Bonnie Capes will direct the music for the April performances of Damn Yankees at Kelsey Theatre, Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road, Trenton. Performances are April 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 8 p.m., and April 6 and 13 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $14, $12 for seniors, and $10 for students and children.

Tickets now available

for Knights’ pasta dinner

Tickets are now available for an "all you can eat" pasta dinner sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council No. 7046, South Brunswick.

The dinner will be held April 12 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the parish center at St. Cecilia’s, Kingston Lane, South Brunswick.

Cost is $6, $4 for children ages 5-13, and free for children age 5 and younger. Take-out orders will also be available.

Register for Connecticut trip starting April 14

The South Brunswick Department of Recreation and Community Affairs is sponsoring a bus trip to the Connecticut River Valley Railroad and a boat ride excursion in Essex, Conn. Resident registration opens April 14. The trip will depart the community center on New Road June 21 at 7:45 a.m. and return at approximately 9 p.m.

Cost is $65 for nonresidents, and $60 for residents, with an additional $5 fee for nonresident guest. Nonresident registration opens May 13 if space is still available. The trip will include sightseeing in the historic village, lunch at Oliver’s Restaurant, a ride on the Valley Railroad train, and steamboat ride on the Deep River to East Haddam. ‘Clean-Up Morning’

‘New Jersey CPR Weekend’ April 5, 6

The American Heart Association’s third annual "New Jersey CPR Weekend" will be April 5 and 6 at AHA-authorized community training centers statewide. ‘Mind & Body’ April schedule announced

The South Brunswick Advisory Board of Health will air "Rabies —Take the Bite Out of Rabies" the week of April 7 as part of its "Mind & Body" series on South Brunswick TV-3. "Clean Air — Let’s Clear the Air" will run the week of April 14. Programs are Monday at 9 a.m. (last topic for the week) and 7:30 p.m. (new topic), Tuesday-Thursday at 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Friday at 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at noon and 7:30 p.m. For more information, call (732) 297-5746.

Registration for roller hockey now under way

Kendall Park Skating and Hockey Center is now accepting team and individual player registrations from both residents and nonresidents for the season to begin the week of April 20. The hockey leagues are non-contact and games are played indoors at a padded arena.
