The Old Bridge Department of Parks, Recreation and Social Services will hold its spring roller hockey instructional program for youngsters between the ages of 5-13 on Tuesday evenings beginning April 15 from 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Old Bridge Sports Arena.

The program instructs players on the finer points of skating, stickhandling, passing and shooting. Players must wear full equipment, and scrimmages will be included. The cost is $70 for Old Bridge residents and $100 for nonresidents. Registration is being accepted at the arena or at the Department of Parks, Recreation and Social Services in the municipal complex. The U10 Old Bridge Rockets soccer team defeated the Neptune Aliens 2-1 to capture their second win of the spring season Sunday in Old Bridge. Goaltender Alejandro Diaz lead the charge while fullbacks Jordan Moretti and Christian Llerena provided the defensive support. Charles Mantione and Richard Loeffler led the attack with goals in the third and 20th minute. Shawn Orzechowski, Sami Abdisubhan, Adam Eyerman, Shane Raymond, Sean Safari, Steven Contreras and Ryan Morelli also powered Old Bridge with spirited play in a gritty, total team effort.

Registration for Raritan Bay Cougar football and cheerleading, ages 5-14, will be held on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cougar Field House on Cheesequake Road, Madison Park, Old Bridge. The Greater Middlesex Conference Football Coaches Association will hold its 13th annual Spring Football Demonstration Clinic on May 1 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at East Brunswick H.S. The Old Bridge Men’s Over 40 Arc Pitch League will be having tryouts for players on April 13. The tryouts are for all positions and will be held at Geick Park Softball Field on Route 516. Tryouts will begin at 10 a.m. For more information, call (732) 607-9057 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The Lady Shooting Starz Basketball Camp will take place July 7-10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sayreville War Memorial High School on Washington Road in Parlin. The camp is open to those girls entering the fourth grade through 12th grade in September, and will feature the Sayreville High School girls’ basketball coaching staff. The cost is $95 for four days of intense, but fun basketball. Costs include individual instruction and development, fundamental instruction and full-court games every day. A camp T-shirt will also be included in the cost of the camp. The camp will be a fun, enjoyable experience at one of the county’s upcoming girls’ basketball programs. The Sayreville Stingrays girls’ fastpitch softball organization currently has the following open positions: 12U, catcher; 14U Blue, one pitcher, two utility players; and 18U, pitcher.
