MILLSTONE A Jackson Township woman’s arm was severed in an assembly line accident at a Prodelin Way pipe manufacturer Wednesday.
Maria J. Iniquez, 45, was working at a large tube cutting machine at Greif Brothers Manufacturing at 2:30 p.m. when her arm became entangled in the blade after she apparently attempted to make a blade adjustment, said Steve Jones, information officer for the New Jersey State Police.
It is unclear which arm was lost and whether it could be reattached.
Trooper Jones said Ms. Iniquez was stabilized by paramedics from the Millstone Township Volunteer First Aid Squad before being taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.
Hospital officials said Thursday she remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
