Grand marshal sought
for Columbus Day
The Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Committee is currently accepting nominations for grand marshal of this year’s 12th Annual Parade and Italian Festival, to be held in Seaside Heights October 10-12.
Last year, in lieu of selecting one grand marshal, the committee honored all of the grand marshals from the parade’s first 10 years.
The deadline for nominations for grand marshal is April 10. Nominations should be submitted to Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Committee, c/o Michael Blandina, 249 Hawaii Drive, Brick 08723.
The grand marshal selection will be announced the week of April 21. The person chosen to be the grand marshal will be honored at the Annual Dinner Dance, which will be held June 13. Anyone interested in becoming involved with the 2003 Ocean County Columbus Day Parade and Italian Festival or joining the committee, may contact Michael Blandina at (732) 477-6507.
