Friday night programs at Manasquan Reservoir

The Monmouth County Park System holds Fun Friday Night programs at the Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, Howell.

The fee for each program is $6.25 per person, with children under age 12 admitted free. The following programs will be held from 7-8:30 p.m.

"The Fun of Fishing in New Jersey," April 11, with Glenn Piehler, author, scientist and fisherman. The program is for novice and veteran anglers of all ages, as well as for people just interested in knowing more about the marine world. The program number is 13032A.

"The Coastal Indians of Monmouth County," April 25. Paul Boyd, noted authority on local Indian culture, will discuss the Lenape people; program 13132A.

"Interesting Marine Life on the Atlantic Coast," May 9. Professor Matthew Landau, author of Organisms of the Atlantic Coast, will detail with slides the many poisonous and electric marine animals that leave near the Atlantic Ocean. Bring a copy of his book to have it signed. Program 13232A.

"Native Plants and Biodiversity of New Jersey," May 16. Bill Young, president of New Jersey Native Plant Society, will talk about what a homeowner can do to preserve native flora. Program 13332A.
