The Princeton Borough Police Department added two new officers to its force Tuesday.
The Princeton Borough Council approved the hiring of Courtney Ann Heller, 22, of Sewell and Sean Peter Cahill, 24, of Milltown to the police department.
Both officers were appointed as probationary patrol officers and will be assigned to the patrol squad, said Princeton Borough Police Chief Charles Davall.
Ms. Heller graduated from Washington Township High School and William Paterson University. She graduated from the Gloucester County Police Academy in December 2002 and previously worked for the Washington Township Police Department.
Mr. Cahill graduated from Spotswood High School and Rutgers University. He graduated from the John H. Stamler Police Academy in Union Township in December 2000 and previously was employed as a detective for the Waterfront Commission of New York and New Jersey.
The department had two vacancies and may incur an additional one this summer with the retirement of another officer.
The Borough Council also established a hiring list of three officers to fill any vacancies occurring through 2005.
