MONTGOMERY — Barbara Anne Gocke died Sunday at The Medical Center at Princeton. She was 70.
   Born in Philadelphia, she moved to Princeton in 1978 and to Montgomery in 1985.
   She received a registered nurse degree from the St. Mary’s School of Nursing.
   She is survived by her husband, Dr. David J. Gocke; sons and daughters-in-law Christopher and Deborah Gocke of Ellicott City, Md., John and Delilah Gocke of Trenton, Gregory and Deidre Gocke of Hightstown and Robert and Meredith Gocke of Eastampton; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and George Wilson of Voorhees, Patricia and Matthew Kearney of Mercersburg, Pa., Mary Ann and Ted Kohn of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Meghan Gocke of Cambridge, Mass., and fiance Daniel Rosenblatt; brother Charles Donohoe of Philadelphia; sisters Margaret Wheeler and Mary McNamara, both of Glenside, Pa.; and grandchildren Andrew, Alison, David, Kelsey, Emma, Kelly, Hannah, Sam, Nicholas and Jacob.
   The funeral will be 10 a.m. today at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Skillman Road, Montgomery.
   Burial will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery.
   Visiting hour is 9 to 10 a.m. today at the church.

WEST TRENTON — Dr. Donald Robert Goodenough died Wednesday at home after a brief illness. He was 75.
   Born in San Francisco, Dr. Goodenough was a retired research psychologist, recognized for his contributions in the areas of sleep research and cognition.
   He was employed for 17 years as professor of psychiatry at the State University of New York’s Downstate Medical Center. In 1971, he became a senior research psychologist at Educational Testing Service in Lawrence Township and he retired from that position in 1982.
   In 1982, he accepted a temporary position in Italy as visiting professor at the University of Rome. After his retirement, he continued to make important contributions as an author, consultant and colleague.
   Author of more than 100 articles in his fields of interest, Dr. Goodenough was one of the earliest psychologists to lay the foundations of modern sleep research in the 1950s and early 1960s. His was only the second of the laboratories conducting significant research in that field, the first of them being the famed University of Chicago sleep lab.
   He served in the Army at Los Alamos as a laboratory technician, and following that, graduated from Stanford University in 1952. After earning a master’s degree from the University of Oregon, he attended the University of Pittsburgh for postgraduate work. He earned a doctorate in psychology from the University of Rochester, N.Y., in 1955.
   His interests included fishing, tennis, golf and researching family genealogy.
   Son of the late Edna Amelia and Darwin Ernest Goodenough, brother of the late Darwin Ernest, Jr., father of the late David, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Payne, at home; sons Charles D. Goodenough of Los Angeles and James N. Goodenough of Bensalem, Pa.; daughter Christine A. Roberts of Washington Crossing, Pa; grandchildren Alexandra M. Goodenough, August B. D. Goodenough, Nadia Ghani, Caitlin P. Roberts and Kyle D. Roberts.
   Funeral will be private.
   A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 North Main St., Pennington. Visiting hour is 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cardiac Unit of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 34th Street and Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
