The League of Women Voters of Hopewell Valley reminds voters that May 5 is the last day to register to vote or change voting address for the June 3 primary election.
To register to vote a person must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on or before Nov. 4, 2003, and reside at his or her present address for at least 30 days.
Voter registration and change-of-address forms are available from the municipal clerks in Pennington, Hopewell Borough and Hopewell Township; the Mercer County clerk, Trenton; various state agencies and libraries.
Voter registration forms may be picked up in any location, but must be returned to the Mercer County clerk. By logging on to www.njelections.org, residents can print a registration form, complete required information and mail it to the Mercer County Commissioner of Registration. Faxed or e-mailed copies won’t be accepted, since an original signature is required.
In November, Valley voters will choose a state senator, two members of the NJ General Assembly (15th Legislative District), a Mercer County executive, three county freeholders, and municipal officials in all Valley municipalities.
