Theodore Blum

   HILLSBOROUGH — Theodore Blum, 76, died April 13 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
   Mr. Blum was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and grew up in New York City before moving to Hillsborough in 1956.
   He was a career 4-H agent, serving as Somerset County agent for 29 years. Mr. Blum was also professor emeritus at Rutgers University Cooperative Extension Services, retiring in 1984. He was inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame last year.
   Mr. Blum was awarded Citizen of the Year for the Greater Somerset County Chamber of Commerce in 1983.
   He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
   Survivors include his wife, Helene McWicker of Hillsborough; son, James E. Blum and his wife, Lisa of Marlton; daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) Blum of Harmony; a sister, Peggy Sanders of California; and three grandchildren.
   Private services were held at VanArsdale Funeral Home. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
