Letter: Celebrate town’s role in Revolution

To the editor:

In a proclamation made at the Cranbury Township meeting on Monday, April 21:
Whereas, the year 2003 marks the 225th anniversary of the American Revolution, more particularly to the Crossroads of the American Revolution, Road to Monmouth Campaign of 1778; and
Whereas, historic Cranbury played a significant role in this phase of our struggle for independence; and
Whereas, historic Cranbury is dedicated to preserving and interpreting its history and acknowledging the contributions of individuals in this continued activity of historic preservation:
Now, therefore, I, Pari Stave, Mayor of the Township of Cranbury, do hereby proclaim 2003 as a year of celebration and memorialization, and call upon the residents of Cranbury to participate in the special events of this year.
