Colin A. McBurney
Colin A. McBurney, 78, of Hopewell died Friday at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
Born in Montreal, Canada, Mr. McBurney was a longtime resident of Hopewell.
He lived with his grandparents, Jane and Robert McBurney since 1934 and attended local schools.
Mr. McBurney was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 20th Air Force as a combat member on B-29s on Saipan. He won various awards including the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross and four Air Medals.
Mr. McBurney graduated from Illinois College in 1951 with majors in chemistry and biology. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Society of Plastics Engineers, Chapter member of the Amwell Lodge No. 12, 32nd Order S&A Mason, Lambertville Chapter, and a member of the Hopewell Valley American Legion Post 339.
The co-holder of 14 patents, including assembly of micro-modular transmitters and receivers, he redesigned naval ship bows for Gibbs and Cox, most notably the SS United States. He developed motion isolators for cameras used in the lunar modules and high-speed injection molding process for electrical insulators and developed reflective insulators ("cat’s eyes") for use on roads. He is survived by his wife Janice McBurney of Hopewell; a stepdaughter Lisa Olasz of Monmouth Junction; a stepson Greg Olasz of New York City; and sisters-in-law Lois Reilley and Julie McNamara.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) at the Cromwell Memorial Home, 71 E. Prospect St., Hopewell.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. The Rev Leland Sapp will officiate.

Mary Jane Finnerty
Mary Jane Finnerty, 75, of Pennington died at her home on Saturday.
Born in Allentown, Pa., she was a former resident of Metuchen and Calabash, N.C., before moving to Pennington.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joseph A. Finnerty; four sons, Thomas and his wife Joan of Princeton, James of Edison, Robert and his wife Janette of Edison and Patrick S. and his wife Lorena of Sunset Beach, N.C.; two daughters, Kathleen Finnerty of Monmouth Junction and Mari and her husband Charles Wall of Duluth, Ga.; and nine grandchildren, Timothy, Peter, Jonathan, Nicole, Kayla and Eric Finnerty, Elizabeth Greenberg, and Tyler and Jeremy Wall.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. James Church, 115 E. Delaware Ave., Pennington.
Friends may call at the Blackwell Memorial Home today (Tuesday) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Antoinette Buzzerio
Antoinette Buzzerio, 78, died Monday at her daughter’s home in Princeton.
Born in Jersey City, she had lived in the Princeton area for many years.
Wife of the late Leonard G. Buzzerio, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph G. and Lynn Buzzerio of Fairview, Leonard and Elaine Buzzerio of Cliffside Park; a daughter and son-in-law, Jannean L. and Edwin Albarran of Pennington; a brother, John Ognisanti of Point Pleasant; a sister and brother-in-law, Victoria and Vincent Sirico of Silverton; four grandchildren, Jonas, Evan and Tyla Buzzerio and Lea Albarran; two great-grandchildren, Sage and Skye Buzzerio; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle.
Graveside services will immediately follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
