LAMBERTVILLE — The City Council April 21 passed a bonding ordinance of $50,000 for a new pickup truck and snow plow for the Public Works Department, miscellaneous items for the Police Department and new technology for the tax assessor’s office.
The city is asking for bids on a Dodge 2500 pickup truck. Bids should be returned to the city by May 19, and it is possible the bid could be awarded during the May City Council meeting, according to City Clerk Mary Sheppard.
The council expects the cost of the truck will be about $40,000. The only item related to the truck not included in the bid is the truck’s cap, Ms. Sheppard said, because the cap from the department’s old truck is still good and will be used on the new truck when it arrives.
Five thousand dollars will go toward the Police Department’s miscellaneous items, and $1,500 is earmarked for a digital camera and printer for the tax assessor’s office. Costs relating to passage of the ordinance will use most of the remaining amount.
