Tree is planted in memory of Earl VanHise
On Friday, in memory of Earl VanHise, VanHise family members are shown in the photo throwing the first shovel of dirt around a newly planted hedge maple in Pennington’s Sked Street Park.
Pictured are: Matthew Czyzewski, 8; Jenna Miles, 4; Jane VanHise, Melissa VanHise-Miles, Melissa Czyzewski, 13, and Roger Miles holding Alexis, 10 months.
The late Mr. VanHise was instrumental in the development of the park.
Also on hand was Santiago Porcella, head of the Shade Tree Commission, who showed Toll Gate Grammar School students a sample of the little trees they would take home and read a poem about a tree. Kurt Pedersen, local nurseryman, was seen shoveling dirt into the area of the newly planted hedge maple.
